The Main Lft Umbilical is the link between the topside control system and the Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Tether Management Systems (TMS).
An armor package is constructed around a central jacketed cable comprised of power and communication elements.
This steel armor is designed to handle the extreme weight of the TMS/ROV and the armored cable itself.
Although primarily recognised as an ROV lift umbilical, similar umbilical designs are used for other applications requiring the strength and communication link offered by this design.
